the Internet. It is primarily a news service, but you get news on every technical sector in the oil and gas industry. If you
don’t currently read this site daily, you are LOSING MONEY! They even offer daily fax services of featured highlights or energy quotes.

It discusses the benefits of integrating bar-code technologies into various supply-chain management systems. It also reveals some important considerations an organization should consider when contemplating this transition.

  • The Petroleum Pages Really, this a extensive collection of links to all things related to Petroleum on the web, maintained by the Center for Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. The links have no explanations or summaries (meaning you’ll have to do a lot more exploring to find what you are looking for), but if you are stumped on a question, or just have a few hours to spend, you should check this place out. If you search hard enough, you’ll probably find what you need.
  • The Petrozone This site is an ok resource. It is primarily a collection of links to various other websites on the Internet, and it doesn’t have much that the larger oil and gas sites don’t have. It is really easy to navigate through, however, which makes it more likely that you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for at this site. It isn’t specifically targeted for measurement professionals, but it is a good place to do research on general oil and gas topics.
  • The Pipeliner’s Yellow Pages is sponsored by the Drannon Marketing Group, and has a pretty decent collection of links to Pipeline resources. Although they focus on companies and organizations directly connected to servicing and maintaining pipelines, the scope of this sub-sector of the oil and gas industry is rather broad, so you will find a diverse collections of resources here. This site also has a pretty decent collection of resumes and personnel information, so if you’re looking for a job, or for prospective employees, you might want to visit. The site is not that easy to navigate through, and it’s not very visually appealing, but it does offer good informational links, so it’s worth a visit.
